August Sander

In this episode, we’ll take a look at one of the more overlooked, but also most important German photographers of the 20th century, August Sander.

Known primarily for his portraits, he was an extremely prolific and influential photographer paving the way to photographers such as Diane Arbus who held him in high regard as her biggest influence.

Also in this show I want to pay tribute to Daan Hansen. Daan was a wonderful photographer and a big fan of the show. He passed away from terminal illness last summer. Daan was a friend and I will certainly miss him. This episode is in his memory. Thank you for the good times my friend. I’ll see you again someday.
